Like most books written by Rider Haggard he tells a most imaginative story, at times with over verbosity perhaps in keeping with the times when the books were written .He gives a fascinating insight in to the lives of and what were acceptable practices to people living at the turn of the century. "The people of the Mist" opens ones imagination as to the possibility of practices from the distant past being handed down in remote parts of Africa before all parts had been discovered as in modern times. I get as much pleasure today, reading these books by this author as I did some fifty/sixty years ago.
