Mickey Haller has spent all his professional life afraid that he wouldn't recognize innocence if it stood right in front of him. But what he should have been on the watch for was evil.Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back seat of his Lincoln Town Car, traveling between the far-flung courthouses of Los Angeles to defend clients of every kind. It is a defense attorney's dream, what they call a franchise case. And as the evidence stacks up, Haller comes to believe this may be the easiest case of his career. Then someone close to him is murdered and Haller discovers that his search for innocence has brought him face-to-face with evil as pure as a flame. To escape without being burned, he must deploy every tactic, feint, and instinct in his arsenal - this time to save his own life.

Very good in very good dust jacket. a 1/2 in. tear in top edge of d/j, author signature. Glued binding. Paper over boards. With dust jacket. 404 p. Audience: General/trade. SIGNED by the AUTHOR at the Los Angeles Festival of Books on 4/27/08. The movie based on the book followed the book fairly well, perhaps better than most books-to-movies. In this instance, instead of Connelly's favorite detective, it is the lawyer becoming a detective to solve another brutal murder-or two-in the wilds of Los Angeles. Connelly's experience of years as a beat reporter show thru again in this book as the reader never know exactly what is going to happen next.

Signed by Author(s) Binding is clean, tight and staright w/ sharp corners; slight bump at head and tail of spine; small rubbed spot on bottom edge of back board; dust jkt is clean and bright w/ no tears, stains or wrinkles: not price clipped or remaindered. Wrapped in Brodart mylar. Connelly introduces criminal defense attorney Micky Haller in a truly gripping legal thriller. Twists, turns and style. Great book. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE TITLE PAGE. I read everything by Michael Connelly and this audiobook was great -- unabridged and the reader was excellent too. This is about a new character by Michael Connelly. Not as compelling as Harry Bosch, but nonetheless a great story with lots of twists and suspense. I can never get too much of Michael Connelly!

I am an avid reader but have never read anything by this author. "Lincoln Lawyer" was a good read....Just a tad wordy with the legal details and plot development but worth it ! The author's writing style makes it feel like you are in the middle of a court room with him. Very Interesting plot. The book is suspenseful. and keeps you guessing. This book has it all....Love, Sex, Murder, Violence and Mystery.
