Harold O'Connor has been a practicing metalsmith for over 45 years. Educated in the United States, Germany, Finland, Denmark and Austria, O'Connor has conducted over 200 workshops and exhibitions internationally. His work is in permanent collections in the Smithsonian Institution, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, and Goldsmith's Hall, London. Harold O'Connor is also the author of the DVD Metalsmithing Techniques and the book The Flexibleshaft Machine.
This is a must have for anyone interested in making jewelery but don't pay the ridiculous prices you will see. As I understand it after the O'Connor divorce there was some question pertaining to the rights of ownership. This subsequently drove the price through the roof. It is again in print and not for the $100 price. I just got mine at National Jewelers Supplies for $13.30. Unless you want an original, get it from a jewelery supply house and avoid the collector price.
