This book scared me witless - to read of the deterioration of truth and integrity in American politics under the Bush Administration makes me very glad that I live in another democratic country, an ally of USA. The blatant disregard of the effect on the ordinary American in the decision making is truly scary - I read every day of yet another horrific story emanating from America - cronyism; multimillion dollar 'golden handshakes' for executives whose companies are virtually broke; the lack of health care; housing disaster; banking crises;exorbitant cost of medications... and then there is the question of the WMD's that were never found. How many have died in vain? How long will the disaster in Iraq continue, and what will they be left with? When will New Orleans be 'fixed'? One could go on for pages. The spin doctors must have their work cut out. Frank Rich has written a book that I believe all concerned Americans should read, and then weep for the mess their country is in.
