The God Delusion caused a sensation when it was published in 2006. Within weeks it became the most hotly debated topic, with Dawkins himself branded as either saint or sinner for presenting his hard-hitting, impassioned rebuttal of religion of all types. His argument could hardly be more topical. While Europe is becoming increasingly secularized, the rise of religious fundamentalism, whether in the Middle East or Middle America, is dramatically and dangerously dividing opinion around the world. In America, and elsewhere, a vigorous dispute between 'intelligent design' and Darwinism is seriously undermining and restricting the teaching of science. In many countries religious dogma from medieval times still serves to abuse basic human rights such as women's and gay rights. And all from a belief in a God whose existence lacks evidence of any kind. Dawkins attacks God in all his forms. He eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the supreme improbability of a supreme being. He shows how religion fuels war, foments bigotry and abuses children. The God Delusion is a brilliantly argued, fascinating polemic that is required listening for anyone interested in this most emotional and important subject. Available now as an unabridged audiobook, narrated by Richard Dawkins himself.

The ever growing Island
Living, as I do, in a very religious country I have found this book to be an inspirational island of sense and reason. While some of Dawkin's points are inadequately backed up (in order to maintain an enjoyable non-bogged down read I presume) to change the convictions of a lifelong believer, It remains an intelligently constructed, informative and entertaining argument.

Very profound
One of the most intellectually powerful book I've ever read can pick it up and just read a page or three at random, and you'll be stunned at how well reasoned his arguments are.

There is no such thing as an "atheist"
One would have to be all knowing in order to say that there is no God.
This book should be considered a poorly written dull comedy. It's content is twisted, one-sided and without rational thought. Dick Dawkins is delusional in his approach.

Open Your Mind
Should be required reading for all religionists.
That's all I had to say about it, but Alibris won't let me publish my review unless it has at least 50 characters - so here ya go!
