VG (May have few prior ownership marks, otherwise clean. ) Blue paper wraps with blue illus. dust jacket. 219, pp., many BW illus., some color illus. An updated catalog from the first edition, published in 1953. "The publication of a new catalogue has been prompted by two motives, the first is to make available to scholars and collectors of English pottery the 135 additions to the collection, all of which are illustrated. The quality and importance of these pieces acquired after the first publication of the catalogue amply justify a new edition. But a second motive, of greater significance, is that this new edition has attempted to enlarge the scope and usefulness of the catalogue by additional historical information on the making and development of English pottery. The first edition was compiled as an illustrated checklist of the collection, while the present edition has attempted greater accuracy in dating and attribution, and each section is arranged, as nearly as possible and practical, in chronological order." (p. 6) Includes a handy chart that references pieces from the first book edition to the second.
