Like New. A fine copy in glazed pictorial boards with a tight binding and an unmarked text. From a private smoke free collection. Issued without a dust jacket. Shipping within 24 hours, tracking number and delivery confirmation. Complete with map.
The title is misleading. A large of the book is of pictures of Civil War DC but none of the strumpets nor of the 'red light' district. Another large portion is a reprint of the sporting guide which contains the names of a number of 'houses' in 1895 with each containing a phrase similar to 'with x number of pretty ladies' and 'with the best beers and wines'. There is also a list of the houses, their addresses and their rating but that is only a page and half with another half page for the 'colored' houses. I was disappointed that not much else was contained there in. A much better book is: Story the Soldiers Wouldn't Tell: Sex in the Civil War.
