One of five CDs in Denon's series, this release has some interesting if hard-to-trace material. Bill Evans performs two numbers with his classic 1961 trio (which includes bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian), Bud Powell plays two lengthy songs with a quintet that features trumpeter Clark Terry in 1957, Teddy Wilson's trio runs through a pair of standards, Thelonious Monk and a quintet with Charlie Rouse on tenor and trumpeter Thad Jones play a version of "Light Blue" that is supposedly from a European tour in 1958 ...
