This is a collection of four novellas by Paul Gallico: "The Small Miracle" a story about a young boy from Assisi who seeks the Pope's assistance in curing his sick donkey; "Love of Seven Dolls" in which a Parisian girl's life is transformed by talking puppets; "Ludmila" the tale of a small cow in Liechtenstein and "The Snow Goose" set in the Essex marches on the eve of Dunkirk. Paul Gallico is also author of "Thomasina" (1939) and "Flowers for Mrs Harris" (1958).
