Utilization of teenagers in the Medical Field. Robert Lovelace served in the United States Army Medical Service during his entire Army career. After leaving the Army and retiring he bought and managed Nursing Homes in San Antonio and Mason Texas. His medical experience during WWII gave him the opportunity to portray a Teenager in medical practice in his book "TEENAGE MEDIC" because so many of the medical personnel in the army medical service were very young. They learned rapidly the medical methods and terminology when they started treating wounded soldiers in the fields and dispensaries where only one doctor was available for hundreds of personnel. They proved to be capable individuals in the medical service and without them many more soldiers would have died during the war. This observation during the war stimulated him to give praise to the teenager who serve the medical profession by putting it out in fiction but in a different setting. He served in the ETO during WWII and after the war served in Taiwan, the Philippines, and Japan. He was proficient as a Medical Assistant Officer in the dispensaries and as a Personnel Officer in Hospitals, The Surgeon's Office in United States Forces in Austria, the Philippines and Japan., He is married, has three children all of whom had Nursing Home operator licenses and worked in the homes.
