This is a good browser book when you're in need of refreshing your ideas. There are many different sizes , shapes, and styles of tags crafted by the author and friends which will set your creative juices running again. The author covers such materials as negatives, can lids, mica, shrink plastic, polymer clay, ribbon (as tags), cork, CD's, and more. The book is well set out with each double-page spread dealing with a particular material and/or technique which can be used to enhance your tag-making. The first page of each spread features scrapbook pages or altered book pages with brief comments on design elements, colours, the material featured, and further suggestions. The second page includes clear, illustrated instructions for the highlighted technique or material, plus brief instruction summaries of other tags included in the outlay. With new ideas and materials constantly appearing on the scrapbooking market, it's good to revisit things we've already tried or things we missed along the way, and this is a good book to dip into for being re-minded and re-freshed. Those who don't care for long involved instructions and those who like to interpret ideas with their own creative flair, something which is the oft -stated desire of authors of this genre, will find this book a useful addition to their resources. Absolute beginners might prefer something with more detailed instruction. Erikia Gumm's book has plenty of examples and eyecandy to make for some very happy reading; certainly a good one to borrow from your local library.
