Lazlo Bane's first EP, Short Style, is filled with solid hooks and pop melodies that are extremely listener-friendly but not unique or memorable. The EP's best track is "Buttercup," a straightforward guitar/bass/drums song that starts with a lone guitar and then explodes into a frenetic tale about a fiery car wreck, a trial and the ensuing conviction.
