The most famous Zeppelin, today known as a blimp, was the luxurious Hindenburg, and it had its last flight on May 6, 1937, when it exploded over Parkhurst NJ. There were 28 European victims who perished. The first airship had made "motorless flights" over Manhattan in 1865, made possible by Dr. Solomon Andrews. The story of Zeppelin flight in between these events is told in this volume.
