She is an excellent writer. Read anything of hers that you can get your hands on. She seems to write series so make sure you start with book one.

Trial by Fire
This is a historical romance about a married couple who have an average marriage. They have been unable to have children. He goes missing after a storm and she fears he is dead. He has been badly burned and is taken in by a couple who nurse him back to health. He is badly disfigured by the fire. He returns to town in time to see his wife, now pregnant, standing at his grave, with another man' s arms around her. He worries she won't accept him as he now is, and he also worries that she has been unfaithful to him. In the time he was recuperating, she began working two jobs to save their ranch. There's a mean banker and a sinister businessman who want her land and water rights. She also begins to learn more about her "late" husband, and wishes she had loved him for who he was, not what she wanted him to be. He has learned, through fire, to appreciate people, not things, and tries to get his wife to fall for the new and improved man he is, even though he is scarred, and she doesn't know it's him. There are great themes of forgiveness and deep love that goes beyond appearances, and lessons about seeing people beyond the circumstances they are in.

Alexander's historical western setting for an inspirational love story is almost too typical but the plot she revolves around the setting couldn't be more superb. I could NOT put this book down! Great for those that love old west inpirational romances, but be prepared for a few twists and turns!
