Paul Scofield Biography

Paul Scofield has been acting for 60 years, but he still wins the admiration of critics. He has worked in movies and on stage, in 1966 he won an Oscar for his role in "A Man For All Seasons", and won a Bafta in 1997 for his part in "The Crucible". Garry O'Connor, using materials gathered from interviews with Schofield himself, as well as many of the directors and actors he has worked with, including Simon Callow, Trevor Nunn, Richard Eyre and Peter Hall, paints a revealing portrait of the private man.
