Good. No Jacket. Book. 8vo-over 7¾-9¾" tall. Book is in good condition with some wear to the covers. Front cover is significantly cracked before title page but remains loosely attached and seemingly complete. Pages have some notes and underlining taken in pencil. This is the version with the green covers.

Blue cloth binding with gilt lettering and decoration on the front cover and spine and an illustration of a sailing ship on the ocean in white, gold and black on the front cover. 545 pages followed by 8 pages of publisher's ads. Book measures 8" x 5 1/2" by 1 1/2". In NEAR FINE condition. Book is bright and clean, tight and square, with strong, sound hinges with no cracking. Very slight wear to the spine ends and corner tips, a few faint light stains on the rear board, and a slight touch of sun-fading to the spine. Otherwise externally Fine with no wear, no bumping, and spotless outer page edges. Internally excellent with a previous owner's ex-libris bookplate on front endpaper and light foxing to the frontispiece illustration and facing title page. Otherwise practically flawless and possibly unread pages with just slight toning. Relatively scarce early edition of this classic novel.
Very Good+/Near Fine in Good DJ. Minor shelf/edge wear, spine lightly sunned, hint of toning at text block edges, else tight, bright and unmarred. DJ shows moderate shelf/edge wear, chipping at edges, head and heel, large chip in lower front corner with loss of a portion of the front image, several small/moderate closed tears at rear, light even toning, else bright and clean. Green cloth boards, gilt text and decorative elements, black ink text, color pictorial endpages, frontispiece, printed tissueguards, tipped in plates. 540pp. Illus. (color plates). One of the great front board images, a ship under full sail in beautifully detailed gilt. Noted flaws notwithstanding, a handsome copy of this exceptional volume, quite scarce in DJ.
