This book is a very current guide for those with basic questions about the nature of belief in Judaism. The fact that it was written in the 12th century does not detract from the initial sentence, and does speak to the genious of Maimonides, the author. The questions about the nature of monotheism, "why does the Bible depice God in anthropomorphic terms?' and "must the Torah be interpreted literally," and others, are questions raised even today. And Maimonides gives very thoughtful, logical responses to each. An excellant text.
