Small 8vo. 113 pp. A fine copy in illustrated paper covered boards, black titles to the spine in a bright, fresh near fine dustwrapper (a miniscule chip at the crown of the spine) with the University Of Toronto emblem on the front. Edel and Brown met in the mid-1920's at McGill University in Montreal and their friendship flourished. Edel was asked by Peggy Brown to complete E.K. Brown's life of Willa Cather when Brown died. Northrop Frye said of Brown that he was "the first critic to bring Canadian literature into its proper context".
