To the half-title of volume II Dexter has written 'Well, you wrote most of it, Ed! ' This work is aimed at students in senior forms of schools or in their first years of further education. The titles discuss contemporary issues in literature, history, sociology, education, philosophy, religion and politics. The purpose of this work is to stimulate thought and open discussion. Colin Dexter was a popular English crime writer, best known for his 'Inspector Morse' series of novels. Throughout his career he received several Crime Writer's Association awards: Two Silver Daggers, Two Gold Daggers and A Cartier Diamond Dagger. He also received an OBE for his services to literature. Condition: In the original limp cloth bindings. Externally, both volumes are smart with light rubbing to the extremities. Marks to the front and rear cover. Light rubbing to the joints. Slight fading to the spines. Price label to the verso of front cover to volume II. Prior owner's pencil notations to the contents page of volume II. School stamp to the title page of volume I, 'The Wyggeston Grammar Leicester School for Boys'. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the odd spot. Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed.
