Fascinating book that reads like a whodunit! I highly recommend it to all those who want to know more about French wine , the growth of the wine industry in California, as well as wines around the world. As a Frenchwomen I was prepared to dislike it a bit, but I found it to be fair, equitable and most interesting.

Excellent all-around wine book

More than an account of the famous 1976 tasting, Judgment is a great history of the early California wine industry. You will be surprised how many names you recognize and the rise of some of these wineries (Grgich, Stag's Leap, Montelena) is fascinating. Highly readable, almost a page-turner if you enjoy wine.
