This wonderful collection of whimsical short fantasies was horribly miss-marketed, as it is subtitled "A Novel, " god knows why, and even the over-title seems calculated to attract readers who'd only find the tales crude and heretical, while scaring off readers who'd really buy it if they figured out it's not religious twaddle. Linney is better known for his work for the theater. His stores amuse me no end, folkloric tales of Saint Peter, comedic and adventure-filled.
