The biography of James K. McGuire a significant figure in U.S. political history and the Irish-American community. At 26 he was the youngest mayor of a major city in America. He was elected three times and as a candidate for Governor in 1898 he nearly derailed the rise of Theodore Roosevelt. His efforts both legal and illegal in the fight for Irish freedom were instrumental in the birth of that nation.
