8vo "Among the Brigands" has 282 pages and 3 b/w plates, and "Escape from the Brigands has 317 pages and 1 b/w plate. pictorial cloth bindings with gilt spine titles, very good except a portion of the rear cover of "Among the Brigands" is darkened. These two volumes comprise the two volumes of the Jack Harkaway Series dealing with Jack's adventures among the brigands. -Mattson: A Collector's Guide to Hardcover Boy's Series Books, #33200-6 and 33200-7. The Harkaway were originally published as English dime novels.
