This was advertised as Used but it was in excellent, new-like condition! And a helluva lot cheaper than Amazon.

modern & fun to work with
This is a good book for self-learners, all exercises are aimed at those learning Italian by themselves. All dialogues are based around a single story: an american with italian heritage who does business in Italy. He wants to make a trip to Italy to meet his distributor there and also travel abit. The vocabulary is modern and the grammar well explained. To me the book doesn't feel like a textbook and is written in a more relaxed style. The content is roughly equal to a once-year course at University/college. A nice touch is that the author points out in the vocabulary list if a word has an irregular accent. Two things keep me from giving it 5/5: in the dialogues words are sometimes used that have not been presented before, and some old-school grammar drills would have been nice to really master the grammatical structures. On the whole though I highly reccomend this book, for self-learners in particular.
