What I like about this 30 minute offering in the "Island Girl" series is that specific muscles are targeted within the context of an up-tempo cardio workout, so this can fulfill one's heart rate requirements. I was a little worried that it would be primarily a strength workout that doesn't raise the heart rate, and this is not the case at all.
Also, the movements here do exactly what they promise. The lower abs and upper abs both get specific contractions within the routine, as do the obliques, but the latter are actually engaged the whole time anyway to keep the hips swaying in figure 8 formation. The buns get plenty of gentle squats and lunges that don't overly tax the knees.
One interesting benefit of this workout is that because Kili and her friends are so muscularly defined, you can see exactly which muscles they are using to drive a particular movement, particularly in the abdominal work. This makes it much easier to do the moves exactly as they are meant to be done.
