Very Good. B000JPHXO2 From the Foreword: This book is the story ol a small but somewhat exceptional railroad which antedated most in the state and continues to this day to play an important role in the movement of people as well as a lesser role in the movement of goods. Since it was one of Connecticut's first railroads, research into its complex history was a challenge. More than once I found conflicting assertions to be verified or gaps in the story which had to be filled. Without the assistance of dozens of people along the way, this small piece of history couldn't have been assembled. VII 132 pages.
The story of the Danbury & Norwalk's origins, 19th century expansion and operations, merger into the New Haven, and its continuing ability to survive in an era when its parent and numerous neighboring lines have long since passed into oblivion. Fine in fine and bright dust jacket.
