A Detailed History
Derek Wilson's "In the Lion's Court" is a readable, but thoroughly researched look at the personal and political lifes of members if the Tudor court under Henry VIII. Politics in Tudor England are a dangerous game with great rewards and deadly consequences.
Wilson offers detailed views of Henry's men, Norfolk, Brandon, Cromwell, More, and Wolsey, and their influences on the King. Wilson exposes their virtues as well as their sometimes fatal weaknesses. A fine book, carefully researched and documented, but, quite readable.
