Icelandic-Canadian Memory Lore

by

This selection of three hundred thirty two examples of Icelandic traditional poetry and other bound language contains children's rhymes, rigmaroles, riddles, lullabies and prayer verses, as well as adult lore such as dance and drinking songs, religious and humorous poems, plus proverbs and sayings. These tests are from a collection recorded in western Canada and two of the American border states, North Dakota and Washington, in the late 1960s.
