This book is written in a style that is very comfortable to read. Eric Sloane is a natural story teller. He gives the reader a glimpse of what was good from the past and worth preserving. He cherishes a simpler life and would be considered a steward of the land, historian and teacher. I purchased this book for my daughter as I already had a copy and really think that any artist, nature lover, lover of the American craft and way should own one. His words come back to me daily as I view todays world. Truly Eric Sloane is an inspiration to all to cherish the past, learn from it, and take it into the future, I only wish I could have met him.
