I'll confess that I had this album (not CD) when it first came out back in 1982. I thought then, and now, that it's an excellent way to dispel the notion that classical music must be -yawn!- boring. "A Night at the Opera" especially proves that opera swings! Something else that is good about this one is it duplicates what they did on the first "HoC;" that is, listing every excerpt for each piece. This might help people who find themselves especially attracted to a strain and want more of it; I know I worked my way thru "Hooked on Romance (Part 2)" until I had every album the piece represented (still have to replace those albums with CDs). One somewhat glitch to be aware of; the CD claims 9 tracks, with a total running time of 44 minutes and 30 seconds. Actually, track 8 and track 9 are one track (so your CD player will say 8 tracks), making up the total running time. Don't worry, you're getting Sousa and Friends both. Enjoy!
