Keller, Bill-Cover Photo. As New. 8 1/2" X 11" 208 Pages Indexed. An as new book with flawless, tight, white pages. Why a book on Holley Carburetors and Manifolds? The automotive enthusiast needs accurate and tested information on Holley high performance carburetors. Automotive textbooks have carburetion sections and entire books are devoted to carburetor design. But neither type of book helps the enthusiast because there's not enough information regarding theory and mathematics. There is some information in shop manuals but it is usually about repairs on a normal car--not one being tuned for high performance, racing or economy. Holley Engineering develops a lot of good information but to use it you need a basic understanding of the various systems and how they are interrelated. Details without the necessary underlying knowledge and understanding can be misleading. They can even cause problems for the user unless he understands the systems and book tells you how to get the most out of them. The past 25 years(1962-1985) saw an increased emphasis on emission controls. Because the carburetor has been one of the main controls, understanding its relationship to other systems and components in the automobile has become essential. Everyone needs to know more about how the various systems work and the role played by the carburetor in meeting emission standards. Included is tuning info on high performance and replacement Holley carburetors including these models: 2300/2305, 4150/60/80, 4165/75, 4500, 4360, 5200/10/20, 2360/6360, 2280/6280, 1940/45/46/6145, 2210/11/45, and others. Special sections on engine requirements, how carburetors work, fuel economy, emission concerns, most common problems, adjustments and repairs, and avoiding fire hazards. Photos and illustrations have been used to describe construction features and operation. Some show how to use standard or special parts to get improved performance. Included also are how-to photo sequences on disassembly and assembly of the most commonly used Holley carburetors. You will find a lot of tips on high performance carburetors. We incorporated answers to all of the questions enthusiasts ask again and again at technical seminars and at the racetracks. We have dispelled many rumors, myths and half-truths that are part of the romance of using Holley carburetors.
