Chen, former Taiwanese Ambassor to the U.S. First edition of this fateful story of one of the survivors of the Doolittle bombing raid on Tokyo in 1942, who ditched their plane in Siberia after running out of fuel. The Soviets interned the survivors, shipping them over 8000 miles over various parts and climates of Russia refusing to release them, as they daily grew more tired of their treatment and hungry. Finlly they manage to escape from Ashkabad into Iran, and eventually make it back to the United States in 1943.
