Very Good. Butchart, Harvey. Grand Canyon Treks. Glendale, California: La Siesta Press, 1986. 72pp. Indexed. Illustrated. 8vo. Yellow printed wraps. Book condition: Very good with lightly rubbed and bumped edges and faint soiling to covers.
Harvey is clearly an accomplished hiker, particularly in the Grand Canyon. His skills in the backcountry are nothing short of amazing. Harvey's writing leaves a bit to be desired, but don't let that stop you from reading on. This book is a short read, but packed with valuable information. You will learn much, particularly if you get a topo of the area, so you can refer to it during the course of your reading. I don't think I will ever think about hiking/camping in the Grand Canyon without this book along for guidance. And what else can I say about Alibris, other than I tell everyone I know, "it's where you buy books". Since I discovered Alibris, I haven't bought a book anywhere else.
