Very Good + in Good + jacket. First edition, hardcover, has very light bumps to spine ends and front corners, a tiny ding to top edge of front board, hint of sunning to top edge of boards, and some very light wear to edges of text block, otherwise a clean, solid VG+ copy in Good+ dustjacket which has chipping to spine ends and corners, light sunning and a small scraped area to spine, and light edgewear with a few closed tears, a small chip, and light creasing.
Very Good in Very Good jacket. Bound in blue/gray cloth with gilt titles on black background on spine. The spine ends are softened and rubbed, and there is a small stain on the rear cover (coffee? ). The hinges are sound and there are no markings in the book. The unclipped ($3.50) first state dustjacket has edgewear at spine ends and corners, with nicks at spine ends and along rear panel. There is also creasing at top edge of front panel with one 1/16" closed tear. It is now in a protective mylar sleeve.

Very Good + in Very Good jacket. Book A solid tight carefully read copy. This copy has some browning/light soil to the edges of the text block, two light corner bumps. The 3.50 jacket has some rubbing wear, edge wear, some edge chipping, chipping at the top and heel of the spine, stress signs at both folds. Still and all a pretty nice copy with an OK jacket of a hard to find title. Michener's second novel.......his follow-up to his Pulitzer winning first book. THIS COPY IS IN MY POSSESSION AND NORMALLY SHIPS NEXT DAY.

Dust Jacket Included. First edition of the author's second book of fiction, fine in a very good dust jacket. The book is tight and square, with just a hint of toning to the page edges. No names, bookplates, or other internal markings. The jacket has a little chipping at the top of the spine and along the top edge. There are 2 small holes at the front gutter/spine that do not affect any lettering on the spine. There is some other edgewear/tiny chips to the jacket. Although far from perfect, the jacket is clean and about 99% complete, and has the $3.50 price on the front flap. A most desireable copy of this scarce book. Groseclose A.004.
Very Good to Fine in Very Good jacket. A NICE COPY EXCEPT FRONT AND REAR FLAPS OF DUSTJACKET HAVE BEEN PASTED TO INNER PASTE DOWNS AND HAVE BEEN DETATCHED LEAVING SOME RESIDUE. OTHERWISE THE BOOK LOOKS VERY GOOD AND THE JACKET IS COMPLETE AND CLEAN.
