Fertility and Other Stories

Vsevolod Ivanov (1895-1963) was praised in the 1920s as one of the most original and promising young writers to emerge from the Russian revolution. FERTILITY AND OTHER STORIES makes available for the first time in English some of his best stories. Ivanov's stories address not only themes of the revolution but also the quiet world of man and nature, and the elemental bond that tied peasants to their native land.
