First publication of Catlin's original drawings upon which his famous North American Indians volumes were based. Original quarter brown leather ove light brown cloth with gilt titles, in a slipcase made of heavy card stock bound in the same light brown cloth. Book is fine and unmarked save that there is a very slight dust or other stin line at th bottom of the front cover, discernible only on very close inspection and extending for two inches to the bottom edge; and the plate facing page 176 has minor creases to the outher corner; the slipcase has slight fading to the entry edges; otherwise this is a clean, unmarked, tight copy. Out of print small run and uncommon.
