It's something Larry struggles with all season after getting the dreaded news that he is indeed a kidney match, and he goes to ridiculous lengths, like befriending the head of an organ-transplant organization, to ensure he won't end up on the operating table. In another story arc, a mumbled comment from his father (Shelley Berman) makes Larry wonder whether he was adopted, and he enlists private detective Omar Jones (Mekhi Phifer) to uncover the truth.
