The original paperback I bought in 1987 is in tatters now from usage. The best compliment I can give a cookbook. Not only are the entrees excellent, but each and every soup recipe has been a hit with my growing family. I finally invested in the hardcover when it became obvious I could no longer find all the loose paperback pages.

The first Cranks Cookbook
This was the first, and probably the best, Cranks Cookbook - it is a superb example of vegetarian recipies and highly recommended particularly to new vegetarians but good for new ideas for others. The later Cranks books get a bit too 'flowery' but this one is down to earth, not too complicated and uses ingredients that are mostly easy to obtain. The nutroast and Express Cheese are two of our favourites - even for non-vegetarians it is a new take on cooking - despite being written some years ago. Thoroughly recommended and thanks to Albris for finding it for us - we lost our own orginal copy!
