I've only gotten through the first couple of chapters. However, the book has already raised some good questions in my mind and has caused me to think. I am a Masters of Divinity Student at Maranatha Baptisti Bible College and I am using Erickson's work for my theological studies

theology
Very good book on Christian theology. He goes through the major tenets of Christianity in a thought provoking way. He really delves into the topic and looks at it from many angles. So good that I want to get volume two.

Broad Scoped and Fair
Whenever I'm studying some particular Biblical topic I like to look it up in Millard Erickson's Christian Theology because of all the Systematic Theologies his is the best at giving a broad and fair view of contributions to each topic. For every topic with theology Erickson presents many of the viewpoints and then finally presents his own. I certainly don't agree with his final view on every topic, but is such a thing even possible with a Systematic Theology? In any case, when I want a quick overview of some subject in theology I like to hit Erickson first before I look elsewhere because I know that he will most likely give me a broader view of the subject than anyone else.
