Very Good in Very Good jacket. New York: Japan Publications, 1983. First edition. Hardcover. 157 pp. Fine, in a very good unclipped jacket. Very faint toning at the edges of the pages, not affecting the photographs. Jacket has light edge wear with soil and rubbing to the panels.
First edition. Hardcover. Ishimoto's second major monograph. Foreword by Harry Callahan. While the book was released in 1969, the images are all from the 1950s and early 60s and capture an innocence and grace that would soon be a memory in the turbulent later years of the decade. The influence of Ishimoto's years at The Institute of Design is unmistakable but he has his own voice that is beautifully expressed in this body of work. A clean very near fine copy in a near fine slipcase with some very slight soiling. No dust jacket as issued. A nicer than usual copy. (Parr & Badger v1, 289)
