Very Good in Good jacket. 12mo-over 6¾-7¾" tall. 238pp. Original green tweed cloth with lettering stamped in black. The binding is quite bright and clean owing to the presence of the original dust jacket. One of the Camp and Trail Series by this publisher, this being #3 in the series. The ad on the back panel lists to the fourth title, "Camp Mates in Michigan." Text browned. Gift inscription on the front free endpaper in pencil. Some foxing to the fore edge of the text block and the prelims. The jacket is foxed and has several small closed tears.
Bound in original carmine cloth with black lettering and design. Small 8vo, pp. 238. In this tale young Owen Dugdale flees from difficulties upriver meets two young American, and has adventures with bad guys. First published by M. A. Donahue in approximately 1912, with the title "Canoe Mates in Canada or, three boys afloat on the Saskatchewan". Rathbone (1854-1938) was an American fiction writer, of which 70 were novels and 250 were juvenile books, mostly under various pseudonyms (see Peel 3796). The binding of our copy shows wear and some soiling. The hinges are just starting but the binding is still tight. Somewhat inferior paper stock (common with books from this publisher) is now lightly age-toned. Overall, still in good, readbale, comdition.
