Excellent
This is the first book in the Lynn Austin seires, Refiner's Fire. Taking place in the middle of the Civil War, this book has everything you are looking for. Caroline lives in Richmond, VA and her daddy owns slaves, but she believes that they should be free. What makes it more difficult is that her love is fighting in the Confederate army. So what should she do? She is torn between the truth and her loved ones. But will Charles ever forgive her? I have to say that this tale is realisticly protray's the Civil War and the different feelings in it. I loved this book.
