Don't Judge a Book by Its' Cover
I am so glad I didn't judge this book by its' somewhat gimmicky (to my eye) cover. It is my Bible for Cajun and Creole cooking.
The first part is a serious history of this excellent style of cooking. The second is recipes. Occasionally they look somewhat complicated but you figure it out pretty easily. Most have suggestions for your own mix of seasonings, a real boon if you can't get a good local brand like Rouse's.
My family's favorite Cajun and Creole recipes are from this book!
