Good in good jacket. Octavo, 253pp. Ex-library with minimal markings. Markings, including some sticker removal, restricted to endpapers-externally clean and no markings to frontmatter or text. Large handsome bookplate on the front free endpaper. A good copy with some scuffing to the bottom corners. In a like dust jacket, which seems to have been very thinly trimmed along the top (no more than 1/4 inch). It's hard to tell just looking at the book, but if you look closely, it's not a perfectly clean cut. I have no idea why this would have been done. Still, while not a crisp or fine copy, a perfectly serviceable reading copy of the first printing of Oates' first novel.
