Very Good in Very Good jacket. First edition, early printing. Text and illustrations are unmarked; pages are bright, though the top edge of the pages is age toned. Binding is tight and square. Price clipped dust jacket is edgeworn, with a number of tiny missing chips. Dust jacket is age toned, especially at the spine. 88pp.
Marguerite de Angeli. Very Good in Good jacket. Square 8vo. 88 pp. Green cloth with red illustration on front and lettering on spine. Illustrated endpapers. Corners and spine ends lightly bumbed and rubbed. Small round stain on front corresponding to a stain visible on inside (only) of jacket. Text block is clean, square and tight throughout. Many black and white drawings and bright color illustrations. Dust jacket has color illustrations on front and back general soiling and spine darkened but lettering still bright. Rubbed and small closed tears on the extremities. Tiny chips to spine ends. 4" closed veritcal tear at top of front, heals neatly in mylar sleeve. Stated first edition.
Good in Good jacket. Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1946. First edition. Hardcover. 88 pp. Very good, in a good unclipped jacket. Board corners lightly bumped with a bit of dampstaining and color bleed from the boards onto the page edges, not affecting text or illustrations. Jacket has a three and five inch closed tear from the bottom of the front panel. Dampstaining on the rear panel and rear fold. The first children's book to address racial prejudice, Angeli later went on to win the Newberry Medal in 1950.
