Although this book is dated enough to be in some sense historical, there is a broad cross section of the various types of therapy of the period, and a focus on brief therapy in each of the types by practitioners of the various types. I have found the material in the text to be both a useful adjunct to my university training in brief therapy and to my training in NLP and Hypnotherapy.
This approach to brief therapy allows the reader to extract general principles that cross all types, and to have input on specific applications in the types that they have previous experience with. The presentation of material in the book also facilitates appreciation of the importance of the Erickson's contribution to the development of Brief Therapy.
This book is enjoyable reading and good food for thought for anyone with interests in psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and counselling in general.
