Seller's Description:
Very Good. Boudica And The Lost Roman (Dales (Large Print)) by Ripley, Mike, 2011-12-01. Trade paperback (US). Glued binding. 446 p. Dales (Large Print).
A down-and-dirty retelling of the revolt of Queen Boudica (often referred to as 'Boadicea') against the Roman Empire in AD 60/61. There is no New Age mysticism or romanticised nationalism is this gritty, realistic version (based on archaeological finds); just spies, greed, corrupt politicians, a ruthless military machine and one or two good jokes in Latin.
An excellent read, though I say it myself.
