A more scholarly Naples
Excellent, fairly recent information for the more scholarly or academic traveler about the history and look of most of the main attarctions in Naples and its surrounding areas. Good introductory section on the area's beginnings and subsequent history into the 20th century. Contains little if any information on visiting hours to sites, however. Great subdivision of Southern Italy into itinerary routes or subsections makes book ideal guide for travelers with their own car or vespa!
