All birds common in Europe and America are excluded, as it is easy for visitors to recognize these a t a glance. Also, birds rare in Japan and usually not seen by visitors are eliminated. However, a complete list of Japanese birds is included with the ornithological and common English and Japanese names as well as information on recognition, range of habitat and habit.
