The "Biology of Plants" is bound to please. Written with Dr. Peter Raven, who has long been head of the Missouri Botanical Garden, itself a world-class treasure and leading research facility, the book is the perfect source for people, like me, who shied away from the life sciences as an undergraduate. Today, as I near retirement from a second career in ministry, I find myself drawn to the life sciences as a source to complete my knowledge of creation, as did some emminent divines in the Roman Catholic and Anglican (mine) tradition of "Natural Theology." This book overcomes some of my more severe shortcomings in basic plant biology and will help me enormously as I become more of a Naturalist.

Great Book
This book really worth it's price - heavy on details and progressive in pedagogical issues, best choice for majors. Brilliant printing, revised content due to modern scientific trends. The only thing that upsets is ecology chapters only on web. I was really glad to have this book and read it cover to cover rapidly.
